i was at work yesterday, marcus and gav CLEANED THE OVEN.
it's a monumental event. this has never happened before. they actually went out, bought cleaning products and CLEANED IT. incredible. and the cleaner who works for this building came in and cleaned all the work surfaces! we almost have a completely clean kitchen! it's bizarre!1
i guess this lends hope for when we move next year.2 perhaps there will be cleanliness after all. who can say? not i.
one at the customers at work made me laugh yesterday. usually people try by making stupid comments. one couple told the customers behind them that i was french and couldn't understand a word they said. oh my. well. this was stupid, but i found it chuckleworthy.
him: when is the day after tomorrow out?
me: on thursday.
him: (instantly, without thinking) so... you might say the day.. after tomorrow!
i think it was the delivery that made that funny. also because it was true. and i hadn't realised. i'd even been telling people it was out on the 27th, because i didn't realise it was so close.
i have an 11 hour shift on monday, which is officially the longest shift i've ever had. it's also going to be a really busy day, as harry potter comes out then, and it's a bank holiday.
what does a bank holiday mean? DOUBLE PAY.
i am going to be paid for 20-21 hours of work. i cannot wait. what's that in dollars?3 :)
today though, i have work at 5. so i need to study. go me! wish me learning prowess!
1 mum, if you're reading this the kitchen is always clean. no mess. never.
2 by next year, of course, i mean in about a month.
3 yes, i realise i didn't give you my hourly wage so you can't work it out. i'm just saying it'll go towards spending money.
