so i guess alice went off somewhere and hasn't seen my big post about her package yet. it's cool. it's not like i wanted any comments anyway.
*sniff*
oh, speaking of comments, turn your head slightly to the right, and you'll see my new shoutbox! it's basically a place for people to talk and leave comments that aren't specifically about my posts. or just be random. use it as a guestbook, a notice board, whatever. just use it :)
i also changed the colour of the text on the page so that it's a little darker, and hopefully easier to see. i have to compromise i guess. i grabbed myself a new webcam program too, and as soon as i can get myself a pop-up window figured out, i'll put up a link to the page. i need a haircut before i start taking more pictures though.
tonight, i'm going to see the polyphonic spree, which will be awesome. totally. i can't wait.
so i got what can only be described as awesomeness, solidified into some sort of package form today.
alice, thank you so much, this is so amazing, even though i knew i was getting a package because of your comment yesterday, but that doesn't even matter because you sent the BEST STUFF EVER.
i have a patented alice mixtape, i have a huge letter in which alice pretended to me and asked herself twenty questions1 which i thought was neat, plus i got covered in glitter and stars, and i have so many stickers and stuff, it's just all good. alice, you are getting something equally2 awesome in the mail soon, i swear. i will start work on it as soon as i can. though i doubt my mixtape will be as indie/emo/obscure3 as yours. you know bands i've never heard of. i'll make mine all british, that should work.
seriously alice, thank you so much. this is the best thing i've gotten in the mail :)
domo-kun says, RAAR! ALICE ROCKS!!! SHE GETS FIFTY-SEVEN MIKE-POINTS! RAAAAAAR!!!
1 leaving out the one i used to ask her all the time though! i guess the answer is still "no, i will not marry you" though.
2 well, as close to it as someone like me can possibly get, anyway.
3 or indiemobscure!
so thanks to some bizarre connections on friendster1, i end up meeting anna, a 25 year old videogames journalist from poland. we get talking after she randomly messages me, i wax lyrical about animal crossing, we talk about movies, she offers me a job writing for her magazine.
*blink*
i've been offered a job writing articles on the portable gaming scene in the uk, and reviews on gba games. i'm just not quite sure how it happened.
if i manage to pull this off, i'll have my work in print in a new magazine in a foreign country. how weird is that? i better get started, 4000 words to a page.
wish me luck.
also, i finally went through all the sketches over at olde english the other day, and they're awesome. i heartily recommend you go there right now. yes, before you've finished the post. go on. i'll wait here.
you done yet? ok. so my favourites are the video will, snapple, and memento: the college years. you can download them all from the site, make sure you do. because they're awesome.
ok, research time.
1 - thanks jerry.
i'll let you in on a little secret - i really suck at this whole packing thing.
i have to move out of here over the next week, but everyone else has gone already, so i decided to come back tomorrow. only i'm really bad at this whole packing thing. i don't know how it's supposed to work. i've got like, half the stuff in my room done, and then i've got pretty much the whole kitchen to get packed too. i'm going to need help.
you know, on days when the sun is shining, it's lovely and warm, and the superfriends are pretty much all offline, it's hard to think up reasons to stay indoors and go on the internet all day.
therefore? SUNBATHING TIME! :D
i want to be in an improv-comedy group, like this one.
i am going to redesign the site again.
new series of scrubs started tonight! woo! i was home so i got to watch it :)
it was gooood. i love the continuous breaking of the fourth wall. it's my favourite technique. i remember seeing an episode of the drew carey show which was filled with as many continuity errors as possible, it was great :)
also, i'm getting better! hurrah. there's only so much sneezing i could take before i contemplated cutting off my own nose, but luckily i don't have to go that far. i like this nose.
i want to go see mooovies. i miss going to the cinema. soon: hulk, bruce almighty, matrix reloaded (again, but on imax) and maybe league of extraordinary gentlemen too.
sorry this is so random, it's 1:13 am. i'll write more when stuff actually happens to me. it's been an uneventful few days.
mike: OH MAN
mike: epitome is pronounced ee-pit-oh-me?
taylor: yeah!
mike: all this time i've been saying epi-tome!
taylor: hahahahahahahaha
mike: WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME?
